The Audi A4 sedan with its elegant yet expressive look displays a commanding road presence. Up front is Audi's single front radiator grille that accommodates four overlapping rings (Audi's logo), flanked by stylish bi-xenon headlamps. It features a unique and squarish-shaped fog lamps and muscular bumper. The long hood is sporty with strong lines that slows upward and merges into A-Pillar. Interior & Features
Inside the cabin, the Audi A4 sedan flaunts roomy, luxurious cabin and sophistication. The smooth leather surfaces, soft touch materials and excellent fit & finish provides premium feel. Adding to it, the vehicle also gets ambient lighting that further enhances the overall premiumness of the car. The leather seats are comfortable as they provide excellent back and thigh support. List of options include a 3-zone climate control, Audi's MMI system and options to choose between a set of shades including brown. There is a driver-tilted LCD positioned above the trendy instrument panel, with wooden trims. This LCD displays information about navigation, when the driver opts for route guidance. The sedan offers a spacious cabin to accommodate five adults comfortably. It also provides a large 480-litres of boot, which is more than sufficient to carry four suitcases along with small bags.
The Audi A4 sedan is available in two engine options - a 1.8-litre TSI petrol and a 2.0-litre TDI diesel. The petrol motor is capable of producing a top power output of 170bhp at 3800rpm and a peak torque of 320Nm at 1400rpm. This engine is paired to a six-speed CVT automatic gearbox which sends power to the front wheels of the car. On the other hand, the oil burner, 2.0L TDI, churns out a maximum power output of 177bhp at 4200rpm and a peak torque of 380Nm at 1750rpm. Power is transmitted to front wheels via Audi's Multitronic CVT automatic gearbox.
The 1968 cc Diesel - powered variant delivers a fuel economy of 17.11 kmpl, while the Petrol variant offers a mileage of 15.64 kmpl, respectively.
Performance & Handling
The Audi A4 sedan is known for offering excellent road handling and driveability. It is equipped with Audi's Drive Select technology that allows the driver to choose from 'Comfort' and 'Dynamic' drive mode; the button for toggle between driving modes is positioned on the instrument panel. The multi-link suspension with stabilizer bar and coil springs further enhances the overall driving comfort. The steering feedback is pretty good, as it is light on low speeds and gradually tightens on acceleration. The diesel powered A4 accelerates to 100kmph from zero in around 8-9 seconds before hitting a top speed of 222kmph. On the other hand, the gasoline model takes 8.3 seconds to cross 0-100kmph barrier and hits a top speed of 225kmph.
Audi's top-selling sedan, the A4 directly rival against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the BMW 3-Series. The league will be joined by Jaguar's smallest yet powerful XE sedan.
